Behaviour Support Plans

Behaviour Support Plans focus on ensuring that children and young people in OOHC who have experienced or are experiencing trauma, loss, grief, poor attachments and/or have particular needs due to disability or other impairment that impacts their behaviour, receive appropriate positive behavioural support to meet their needs. The aim is to support children and young people, and their carers, to develop strategies to regulate their own behaviour, leading to improvements in self-efficacy and social and emotional well-being. The plans also take into account the legislative framework in New South Wales, as well as agency policies and procedures relating to restricted practices and psychotropic medication use.

Family Group Conferencing is a structured meeting facilitated by social workers, bringing together both family members and professionals to discuss and make decisions about the care and well-being of a child or individual.
