History of Rights

It has been stated that children are in need of extra protection and care in the Geneva Declaration of the Rights of the Child 1924, in the Declaration of the Rights of the Child, adopted by the General Assembly in 1959 and in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child 1990, “recognizing that the child, for the full and harmonious development of his or her personality, should grow up in a family environment, in an atmosphere of happiness, love and understanding”, (UNCRC,1990).
